Srinagar, Feb 16: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) senior leader Peer Bilal has urged the government to take immediate action to address the severe water crisis in Kashmir.
He warned of devastating effects on the environment, agriculture and daily life and called for a comprehensive approach to address the problem.
Bilal in a statement issued here said there is a continuous dry spell in the region and a comprehensive approach is needed to solve the water crisis. He urged the government to prioritise this issue and develop a long-term strategy for sustainable water management.
The DPAP leader also highlighted the importance of responsible water usage among citizens. He urged people to conserve water and take special care to preserve water bodies.
Bilal further urged the government to build Water Supply Schemes for the Phaag area.
