Srinagar, Jan 27: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Saturday convened a meeting led by Central Zonal President Peer Bilal to discuss and address pressing local issues within the Srinagar district, with a particular focus on Cheke Dara Harwan.
The gathering underscored the absence of fundamental amenities, notably electricity and schools, in the Cheke Dara Harwan area, the party said in a statement, adding that the participants highlighted the plight of residents, particularly those below the poverty line, who struggle to afford escalating electricity bills due to inadequate medical facilities.
Expressing concern over the gravity of the situation, Peer Bilal urged the LG administration to prioritize and promptly address these critical concerns. He said the DPAP emphasizes the urgent need for enhanced medical facilities and affordable access to basic amenities for the residents of Cheke Dara Harwan.
Key leaders, including District President Srinagar Amir Bha, State Spokesperson Waseem Yaqoob, Dr. G.M. Rather, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Block President Hazratbal Mohammad Yaqoob G.N Phamda, Gulzar Phamda, Mohd Ilyas Rather, Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Hilal Ahmad Ganie, Ali Mohd, and other party functionaries actively participated in the meeting.
“The Democratic Progressive Azad Party reiterates its commitment to advocating for the welfare of the community and calls for prompt action from the authorities to address the urgent needs of the residents in Cheke Dara Harwan,” Bilal said.
