Srinagar, April 06: The Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fees of Private Schools, J&K (JKFFRC) has asked all the private schools of Jammu and Kashmir not to charge any type of advance fee and if charged from the parents shall immediately refund.
According to an official order by Justice Sunil Hali, Chairperson of the Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools J&K said that complaints are pouring in that the Private schools are charging advance Tuition fee, Annual Fee and transport fee for a year in some cases for entire schooling period without approval of competent authority. This practice is a violation of law and can’t be permitted.
“The grievance of Private school managements is that the parents/students are not paying fees on time and in some cases for months together,” the order said.
It said that to address both the issues it is ordered that the private schools of Jammu and Kashmir shall not charge any type of advance fee and if charged from the parents shall immediately refund the same.
“All the parents whose wards are studying in private schools of UT of J&K shall pay all types of fee by or before 15th of every month to enable the school management to pay salaries to staff and meet out other expenses,” order said
The order further said that any deviation from the part of either stakeholder shall warrant action in accordance with law.
