District Level U/14 Boys’ Football Tournament kicked off by YSS Anantnag

Anantnag, Sep 02: The Department of Youth Services & Sports Anantnag has taken a decisive step towards nurturing young talent in the region by inaugurating the highly anticipated district-level U/14 Boys’ Football Tournament at the Sports Stadium Anantnag. The momentous event was graced by the Chairman of the Sports Council Stadium Anantnag, marking the official commencement of this thrilling competition.
The tournament witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from all eight zones within the district. With an ambiance filled with sporting fervor, the football matches unfolded under the watchful eyes of a substantial number of spectators who came to support and encourage the budding athletes.
In addition to the football tournament, a wide range of sporting activities was organized at the zonal level to promote holistic sports development in the district. Zone Shangus orchestrated a Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, open to both boys and girls aged 17 and 14, while Zone Achabal hosted a Cricket tournament targeting individuals aged 14 and 17. These events aim to foster an all-encompassing sporting culture and provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and passion for sports.
The Department of Youth Services & Sports Anantnag remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing and honing the athletic potential of the youth in the district. The district-level U/14 Boys’ Football Tournament and the accompanying zonal tournaments represent a significant step in realizing this vision, ensuring that the sports legacy of Anantnag continues to flourish. As the tournament progresses, excitement and anticipation mount, promising an exhilarating sporting spectacle for all involved.
