Poonch Jan 17: Two days 9th District Handball championship Kick started on Friday by handball association district Poonch under the aegis of J&K Handball Association with the collaboration of J&K Sports Council for senior men.
In this championship, a total of six teams taking part across the district. This championship being organised on league cum knockout basis was declared open by Mushtaq Ahmed In charge sports stadium Poonch. Other prominent persons present in the opening ceremony Mohd Shakeel AEE, Ram Parkash, Pawan Kumar, Mohd Ilyas, Narinder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Narinder Singh, Ghulam Abass, DK Raina, Matinderpal Singh, Zakir Hussain Richa Bali and Imtiaz Ahmed.
Organizing Secretary of the championship Sorab Sharma PEM who welcomed all the guests, players and officials on the behalf of Poonch District Handball association. Today, Poonch Handball Club beat Surankote Handball Club by 33-21 and Ajote Handball Club beat Power House Handball Club. Today’s matches were officiated by Imtiaz Ahmed Lone, Ghulam Abass and DK Raina.
