Jammu, March 14: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Jammu has taken several initiatives to handle the workload, and redress public grievances. Being service oriented Organisation, EPFO in J& K and Ladakh has been facing some specific challenges like poor compliance, inadequate member details, lack of awareness amongst the members and employers, etc.
Rizwan Uddin, RPFC-I highlighted the importance of PF, Pension and Insurance schemes framed under the EPF & MP Act., 1952 in providing social security to the members and their dependents in their most vulnerable times. Benefits under Employees’ Pension scheme was specially underlined which was earlier not available to PF members of UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh, the EPFO said in a statement.
He said there is a minimum pension payable to widows and two dependent children, in the eventuality – of the untimely death of members. He also informed the stakeholders about the availability of insurance benefits up to the tune of Rs 7 lakh to the family members in case of the unfortunate demise of members while in service.
RPFC-I asked the media to facilitate EPFO in spreading the message of “Social Security amongst the stakeholders. He informed that to facilitate the resolution of the doubts of the employers and employees. EPFO, J&K and Ladakh will hold webinars as well as workshops for handholding in online services and KYC.
EPFO Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh will be organizing NidhiAapke Nikat-“outreach programmes” in each district in the UTs, gradually on March 27. Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 programmes have been scheduled to be held at Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kargil.
EPFO has been working within resource constraints. Team PF Jammu has adopted flexible working hours to enable maximum claims settlement in a working day. WhatsApp support has been provided to employees and employers located in remote localities. WhatsApp Helpline number 600 6567049 is available 24 X 7 for the stakeholders to register their issues through WhatsApp messages.
Rizwan Uddin, PF commissioner himself monitors this number during flexible hours and tries to address people’s issues in time bound manner. Pensioners are regularly being facilitated at EPFO, Jammu where the digital life certificates of all the visiting pensioners are updated promptly by the designated team.
