Jammu, July 01: Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, today inaugurated the 9th crop insurance week campaign at the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu. The week-long campaign, being observed from July 1 to July 7, 2025, marks a significant step in promoting awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the Kharif 2025 season across Jammu Division.According to a statement issued, Director Agriculture flagged off the crop insurance awareness campaign van, which will travel across districts of Jammu Region to sensitize and educate farmers on the key features and benefits of the PMFBY scheme.Speaking on the occasion, A.S. Reen emphasised the importance of the campaign in ensuring maximum farmer outreach, particularly focusing on non-loanee farmers. He directed field functionaries to organise awareness camps at the block and panchayat levels in collaboration with insurance companies and banking institutions. Director Agriculture Jammu directed Chief Agriculture Officers for active participation ofAgriculture Extension Officers (AEOs), Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs), and Agriculture Extension Assistants (AEAs) to assist farmers in the enrolment process. He stressed the need for close coordination with insurance companies and Common Service Centres (CSCs) to ensure smooth and timely registration within the notified cut-off dates.A.S Reen appealed to the farming community of Jammu Division to enroll under PMFBY for the Kharif 2025 season to safeguard their crops against unforeseen losses.
