Jammu, March 17: Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh sanctioned Rs 15.11 lakh in favour of 35 wards of police martyrs. He also sanctioned a scholarship amounting Rs 5.15 lakh in favour of 103 wards of serving/retired police personnel.
“The reimbursement of educational expenses included expenses of wards of martyrs on tuition fee, transportation charges, books/stationery and uniforms for the academic session 2019-20, 2020-21 & 2021-22,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
The DGP while encouraging and appreciating the hard work of the wards of police personnel who have excelled in the class 10th annual examination during the academic session 2021-2022, sanctioned Rs 4.88 lakh in favour of 100 meritorious wards of serving police personnel.
Among these, Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 44 wards who have secured 90% and above marks and Rs 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 56 wards who have secured 80 percent and above marks, he said. “Besides, he (DGP) also sanctioned scholarships in favour of 03 wards of retired police personnel who have secured more than 80 percent marks in the annual examination of class 12th and in post-graduation examinations. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.”
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired police personnel under different schemes, the spokesperson said.
