Jammu, Jan 18: In continuation to a series of welfare measures for the police personnel, Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 75 lakh welfare loan in favour of 63 serving officers and personnel of J&K Police. He also sanctioned financial assistance of rupees three lakh in favour of NOK of martyrs.
“Vide PHQ Order No. 188 of 2023, welfare loan ranging from rupees fifty thousand to rupees 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 62 serving police personnel for the purpose of their self-marriage, or for the marriage of their wards/relatives,” a police spokesperson said in a statement, adding, “A welfare loan of rupees 1.50 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of one police personnel for whose ward is pursuing higher education.”
The welfare loan sanctioned to the serving police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest. This welfare loan has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
The DGP also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs one lakh each in favour of NOK of martyr SgCt Gh Mohammad, martyr Ct. Ab Majeed and martyr Ct. Nazir Ahmad for the purpose of marriage of their daughters.
“Police Headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks serving/retired of Jammu and Kashmir Police and to serving SPOs,” the spokesperson said. “Financial support to the families and wards of martyred police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs is also taken care of by the Police Headquarters.”
