DGP emphasizes vigilance against anti-peace elements in South Kashmir

Srinagar, July 20:

The Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, Dilbag Singh, conducted a high-level meeting with Police, Army, and CRPF officers in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today. The meeting focused on reviewing the security situation in South Kashmir and the preparations for the ongoingShriAmarnathJiYatra.
Accompanied by Spl DG CID, J&K, R.R Swain, ADGP CRPF J&K NalinPrabhat, ADGP Armed J&K S. J. M. Gillani, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, and IG KOS CRPF G.K Verma, the DGP chaired the meeting to devise a comprehensive strategy to combat anti-peace elements and ensure the safety and security of the people.
During the meeting, the DGP emphasized the critical role of intelligence networks and the importance of sharing timely inputs to preempt any untoward incident. He called for joint night domination and foot patrolling to enhance security measures. The DGP also urged the officers to conduct planned manhunts in suspected areas to track down terrorists.
Underlining the need for increased vigilance and proactive actions to promote peace and stability, the DGP directed the officers to take strict actions against those involved in anti-peace activities. He stressed on the reinforcement of security arrangements to prevent any disruptions to the tranquility in the region.
Addressing concerns about support networks aiding terrorists, the DGP instructed the officers to put in all efforts to ensure a terror-free environment in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the importance of gaining the trust and cooperation of the people as an integral part of counter-terrorism operations.
Regarding the ShriAmarnathJiYatra, the DGP emphasized meticulous adherence to all arrangements to ensure a safe and incident-free pilgrimage. He directed the officers to continue their hard work to ensure the successful completion of the Yatra.
During the meeting, the officers discussed emerging challenges and proposed countermeasures. Detailed discussions were held on terror crimes in the valley, and the officers presented suggestions to strengthen anti-terror operations and further promote peace in J&K.
The DGP was apprised of the area domination in Anantnag and other districts of South Kashmir. The security forces’ deployment at strategic locations and the anti-terror security grid in South Kashmir were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by various high-ranking officials, including Brig A.S Pundir (2 Sector RR), DIG South Kashmir Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DIG CRPF OPS Anantnag K.S Daswal, DIG OPS (SKOR) CRPF AlokAvasthy, and several others.
The DGP’s visit and the comprehensive review meeting aim to bolster security measures and ensure a peaceful environment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir during the ongoingYatra and beyond.
