Development of Pir Panjal region high on Govt’s agenda: Rana

Poonch, Oct 27: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, on Sunday visited Pir ki Gali and Surankote constituency of Poonch district.
On his maiden visit to Poonch district after assuming office, the Minister was received by the senior officers of district administration and civil society organisations.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at Pir ki Gali, the Minister said that the Omar led Government is committed towards fulfilling the developmental aspirations of people, while taking due care of people’s basic requirements. Enhanced efforts are being initiated towards ensuring that all the rural and border areas of the UT are brought under the ambit of various government schemes meant for their development, he added.
He stressed that government is keen to work for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir and sought cooperation of all stakeholders in this regard.
“Development of Pir Panjal region is high on agenda of present government, maintained the Minister while elaborating certain strategies being worked upon on this account.
Javed Rana, while appreciating the public for their firm support, said that he will work with utmost dedication and vigour to bring enhanced development and prosperity in the region. He emphasized that welfare of youth is one of the top priorities of the present regime and the government will leave no stone unturned to fulfil the aspirations of the people making their lives easy and better.
Earlier, the Minister paid obeisance at the tomb of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Ahmad Karim (RA) in Pir Ki Gali and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the region.
The Minister also announced setting up of a Special Transit Facility at Pir Gali for devotees of Dargah Lar Shareef.
