Dept of management studies, KU north campus organises Fest

Srinagar, Oct 28: The Department of Management Studies, North Campus, University of Kashmir organised a one-day Business Fest-‘Colour me Autumn’ Harud 2024 on 28 th October. The festival, held annually, serves as a platform to showcase student talent and entrepreneurial abilities, while
celebrating the region’s rich cultural heritage.
The event was inaugurated by the Director North Campus, Prof. Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad, who welcomed the participants and lauded the organizing committee for their hard work for organising such an event at North campus. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir – Prof. Nilofer Khan, who served as the Chief Guest. The Vice Chancellor encouraged the students to continue developing their skills in entrepreneurship and motivated the audience with her words of wisdom.
The inaugural session was also graced by the presence of the coordinators of various departments,
faculty members and the students of North campus as well as many adjoining colleges. Dr. Ambreen Khursheed Wani, who was the event coordinator in her introductory remarks, briefed the audience about the event. The event gave space to the recitation of the University Tarana, immediately followed by a soulful rendition of the traditional Kashmiri Rouf, setting the tone for a day filled with cultural performances and business-oriented activities.
The festival commenced with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official inauguration of the student-run stalls. These stalls, set up by aspiring entrepreneurs from the Department of Management Studies and young entrepreneurs from across the region, featured a wide range of products and services. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir accompanied by Director North campus and other guests visited the stalls and interacted with the student entrepreneurs, providing valuable insights.
The students of the department showcased their talent by participating in various cultural programmes. The felicitation ceremony was carried out where students were presented certificates and awards were given to the best stalls and best cultural performance of the event. Besides this, the organisers, volunteers, and sponsors were also felicitated in the valedictory session. Dr. Viqar U Nissa, Coordinator – Department of Management studies delivered the concluding remarks, highlighting the impact of such festivals in building entrepreneurial skills among students. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sumaira Gulzar, faculty member of the department, bringing the vibrant and engaging festival to a successful close.
