Anantnag, May 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania on Tuesday said high voter turnout in Srinagar is the triumph of democracy over forces advocating for a poll boycott.
Addressing a gathering of party cadres in the Dooru area of the Anantnag parliamentary constituency, Pathania said the Lok Sabha elections in Srinagar marked the highest participation in the entire Kashmir valley since the onset of terrorism.
He attributed this achievement directly to the historic decision made on August 5, 2019, along with the gradual initiatives and efforts of the Modi government, which he said have fostered an environment conducive to such positive outcomes.
The BJP leader credited the youth and women of Kashmir as the primary drivers of this change, expressing their desire to script a new narrative for Kashmir. “The people of Kashmir are moving away from the era of bloodshed, unemployment, dynasty politics, and empty rhetoric, towards a future focused on employment, development, tourism promotion, and overall prosperity,” he said.
Encouraging party cadres to disseminate this message across every corner of the region, Pathania urged them to stand against corrupt and dynasty-based political parties. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to nationalism, democracy, and inclusive development, and the party’s unwavering support for forces aligned with these principles.
Ranbir concluded his address with veiled references to “bat and ball”, urging voters to support a local political party. Rumaisa Wani, Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha, Pinka Malik, Bashir Dar, Nissar Ganai, Nissar Khan, and several other local leaders also spoke at the meeting, rallying support for the party’s vision and agenda.
