Reasi, Aug 13: As the nation prepares to celebrate the 79th Independence Day, the Reasi district came alive with patriotic fervour today as a Mega Tiranga rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik on Wenesday. The rally commenced from General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium, passed through the bustling Reasi Market and culminated back at the Stadium.As per a statement issued here, simultaneously, vibrant rallies were organized across all blocks of the district from the remote heights of Chassana to Katra and covering all blocks ensuring every corner of Reasi joined in the celebration. The event saw enthusiastic participation from more than 15000 people, including students, youth, local citizens and government officials. ADDC Reasi Sukhdev Singh Samyal, SSP Paramvir Singh, ADC Rakesh Kumar, ASP Iftkhar and others graced the occasion, further inspiring the crowd. Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the significance of such initiatives in strengthening national integration. She expressed delight at the overwhelming enthusiasm displayed by the people of Reasi, noting that the Tricolour has been hoisted at all iconic locations and prominent buildings across the district including the breathtaking Kousar Nag Lake, situated at high altitude as a symbol of unity and national pride. The Deputy Commissioner further informed that a series of activities marking Independence Day are being held in schools and colleges throughout the district, featuring debates, wall paintings and cultural programmes. Under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, National Flags are being distributed across all blocks and households ensuring the flame of patriotism reaches every home in Reasi.
