Bandipora, July 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, on Wednesday flagged off two water tankers to augment the existing water supply system in the district.A statement issued here said that the tankers, each with a capacity of 9,000 litres and costing ₹26.52 lakh, have been provided by NHPC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. These tankers now allotted to Jal Shakti(PHE) Department will help in increasing the operational capability of the department in the district and thus promoting public welfare. Speaking on the occasion, the DC expressed hope that the initiative would help address water supply challenges in the region, especially during peak demand periods. Among others, senior officers from NHPC and the Jal Shakti Department were present on the occasion.
