Baramulla, Oct 04: To equip educational institutions with modern technologies and ensure proper hygienic practices, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, on Wednesday distributed incinerators, vending machines, tablets, IT gadgets and other equipment under the Aspirational District Programme during a function at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Baramulla.
The Education Department Baramulla organised the event, which was attended by Joint Director Planning M. Yousuf Rather, Chief Education Officer Baramulla and other prominent members of the District Administration.
During the event, Dr Sehrish distributed Incinerators and Vending machines, Tabs, IT Gadgets, and other vital equipment to various educational heads.
Highlighting the significance of these distributions, the DC emphasised that the Incinerators and Vending machines are not just tools for waste disposal; they are catalysts for fostering a culture of cleanliness and sanitation in educational institutions. “These initiatives are poised to create an environment conducive to learning, benefiting 27 secondary and senior secondary schools, setting a milestone in elevating hygiene standards across the district,” she said.
Dr Sehrish also distributed the cutting-edge IT gadgets to 7 block resource centres across the district, empowering teachers at the grassroots level. “These technological resources will enhance teachers’ IT pedagogical competencies, enabling them to deliver effective digital instructions and ultimately enriching the educational landscape,” she said.
Addressing the critical issue of Out-of-School Children, tabs were distributed to zonal heads. These devices, the DC said, will play a vital role in identifying and connecting with children who might have been excluded from the formal education system. Ensuring that no child is deprived of educational opportunities, she said these tabs will facilitate their seamless integration into the school system.
“These initiatives are part of a well-structured plan to extend essential facilities to every school in the district. This phased approach is designed to ensure the success of the Aspirational District Programme, reflecting the district administration’s commitment to creating a robust educational framework,” Dr Sehrish said.
Following the distribution ceremony, the DC Baramulla visited the IT and Robotic Lab, engaging in a brief interaction with students to understand their experiences and aspirations.
