Ganderbal, Mar 27: The Rajbhasha Cell, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organised a workshop on “Use of Microsoft 365 in the Implementation of Rajbhasha” in the blended mode at varsity’s Green Campus here on Thursday.
In his address, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool emphasized the critical role of technology in facilitating the implementation of Rajbhasha and lauded the Cell for its efforts. He highlighted the need for proficiency in Hindi—both in reading and writing—and stressed the importance of achieving 100% implementation of Hindi in official communications. He expressed confidence that the workshop would further train employees and encourage increased usage of Hindi across the University.
External expert, Director, Regional Languages, Microsoft, New Delhi, Mr. Balendra Sharma, congratulated the University on its commendable efforts in Rajbhasha implementation. He delivered a detailed presentation on “Use of Microsoft 365 in the Implementation of Rajbhasha,” demonstrating how AI-integrated tools simplify Hindi usage in official tasks. He commended the University’s progress, noting that over 70 per cent of its employees are proficient in Hindi and actively implementing it in their official tasks.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Officer, Dr. Arif Khan, appreciated the collective efforts toward Rajbhasha implementation. He stressed the importance of IT tools in education and administration, stating that they transform hard work into smart work, thereby enhancing efficiency.
Hindi Adhikari, Dr. Sakeena Akhtar, provided an overview about the workshop’s objectives, highlighting that 70 per cent of official correspondence at the University is currently conducted in Hindi, with ongoing efforts to achieve full implementation. She said the event aimed at leveraging technology to enhance the effective implementation of Hindi in official communication.
