CUK VC interacts with stakeholders, discusses academics affairs

Ganderbal, May 4: Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath Wednesday conducted a detailed interaction with the Class Representatives of all the departments at varsity’s Green Campus here.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean School of Education, Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, Finance Officer and Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Mehraj ud Din Shah, senior functionaries of the university were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, said the university administration is seized of all the issues and problems confronted by the students, undergoing studies in multiple campuses of the university and is taking all possible measures and steps to provide the requisite facilities for their comfortable academic tenure. “The university is devising an academic calendar which will be strictly adhered to by all the teaching departments to ensure that the teaching-learning process and examinations are conducted within the stipulated time frame,” he said, adding the completion of the degree by the students within the stipulated period is the priority of the university. CUK VC said the university is making strenuous efforts to shift all the teaching departments to the designated Tulmulla campus and work on the permanent structure is going on in full swing. Prof. A Ravinder Nath, said the NEP-2020 is being implemented in letter and spirit and the university will ensure implementation of all the student friendly measures. He passed on the spot directions to the administration to redress the grievances of the students and asked them to keep the university abreast about the issues confronting them by sharing the same in the complaint boxes available in all the campuses. Prof. A Ravinder said the safety and security of the students was of paramount importance for the university. He asked the students to flag the issues along with the possible solutions for the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, asked the students to approach the office of the Dean Academic Affairs through their HODs for availing internship facilities outside the Jammu and Kashmir and said the university will also hold examination on demand for students doing the same in the reputed institutions across the country. He asked the students to explore the possibilities of making use of the facilities of sister universities in J&K and other institutions across the country for which the CUK will facilitate.
In his speech, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, assured full support and cooperation to the students from the university administration and asked them to proactively highlight the problems faced by them. He said the university, despite facing several constraints on account of infrastructure, is providing quality education to the students. He maintained that the university is taking all possible steps to provide a safe and conducive environment to the students.
Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Mehraj ud Din Shah, who conducted the proceedings, asked the students to maintain discipline in the campuses and concentrate on studies. He further asked the students to participate in the competitions and programmes organised by the DSW from time to time to showcase their hidden talent.
Earlier, several delegations from the teaching and administrative staff (both permanent and contractual) felicitated the Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, on assuming the office and apprised him about their working. They informed the Vice Chancellor about the issues ranging from promotions to the welfare schemes for the employees, which needed immediate attention. The Vice Chancellor, asked all the employees to work with utmost dedication for the growth and development of the institution.
