Ganderbal, Oct 23: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), and the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Gandhinagar, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the university’s digital learning infrastructure through the implementation of an advanced Learning Management System (ILMS).
The collaboration aims to provide better access to e-resources and support academic and research activities.
According to the MoU, the INFLIBNET Centre will provide the ILMS setup, using open-source software, customize the platform, and provide training, support, and hosting services. The Central University of Kashmir will be responsible for managing user enrollment and course content
This collaboration is expected to significantly improve the university’s digital learning environment and contribute to the academic growth of its faculty and students.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, extended his congratulations to the Directorate of Information Technology and Support Services (ITSS) for successfully signing the MoU. He commended Prof. Rana Hashmy, Director ITSS, for her persistent efforts in formulating and advancing the agreement. He asked the ITSS team to ensure the proper implementation of the MoU so that it benefits all stakeholders at the university.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, and Registrar, Prof. M. Afzal Zargar also emphasized the importance of implementing the MoU in its entirety to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from the initiative.
Speaking about the significance of the agreement, Prof. Hashmy said the ILMS will enable the university to upload and organize academic resources on a dedicated portal, as well as provide access to over 1000 e-resources spanning various topics. “This development is expected to enhance both teaching and learning experiences at the university.”
