Srinagar, Apr 05: In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the Central Reserve Police Force’s Bravo Company of 44 Battalion, based in Narbal, Budgam, has launched a commendable initiative under the motto “Suraksha bhi aur Seva bhi” (Security and Service). This unique program aims to provide Iftari, the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset, to passersby and car drivers nearing Iftar time.
Rishi Raj Sahay, Commandant of the 44 Battalion, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “Ramadan is a time of reflection, community, and acts of compassion. Through this initiative, we aim not only to extend our services beyond the call of duty but also to forge stronger bonds with the community we serve. It is a small gesture of our respect and understanding towards the cultural and religious practices of the region.”
Assistant Commandant Ajay Kumar Mishra of Bravo 44’s company also emphasized the importance of acknowledging and respecting the sanctity of Ramadan. “The holy month teaches us the values of patience, empathy, and charity. By providing Iftari to those on the road during this time, we are honoring these values and contributing to the spirit of communal harmony and mutual respect,” he remarked.
This initiative is more than just providing a meal; it’s a bridge of goodwill between the CRPF and the local community. It reflects the Battalion’s commitment to serving not just as protectors but as benefactors and supporters of community well-being.
Rishi Raj Sahay further added, “It is our duty to ensure the safety of our people, but their well-being is equally our responsibility. Initiatives like these bring us closer to the community, helping to build an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. We hope to continue and expand such activities in the future, emphasizing the role of security forces as pillars of support in the society.”
