Baramulla, Apr 02: Hailing from a small village, near Bomai in the Sopore area of district Baramulla, talented 9-year-old cricketer, Hurmat Irshad Bhat is making headlines in the media centres after her cricketing video on social media has gone viral and the young cricketer has received appreciation for her skill from the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar.
At the tender age, young Hurmat shows grace, elegance and sublimity with the willow like the established cricketers.
Inspired by the legendary cricketer Mithali Raj to take to the game of cricket, Ms Hurmat is hitting the ball with pure grace and utter brilliance.
The student of Grade-III of Prime Public School, little Hurmat Irshad Bhat practices for around four hours each day.
Iconic Virat Kohli is the most favourite cricketer for left-handed batter Hurmat and she also loves to watch southpaw Shikhar Dhawan’s batting.
Aiming to represent India at the International scene, Hurmat said the words of appreciation from iconic Sachin have motivated her a lot and she will leave no stone unturned to fulfill her dream.
After watching the video of this girl, Sachin Tendulkar said that such videos bring a smile to his face, adding he would love to see more and more girls to take to the game of cricket.
Expressing her views on the viral video, Hurmat said that it was the greatest thing to happen in her life, especially, a tweet from Sachin Tendulkar has made her feel ecstatic.
While expressing his happiness over the fallouts of the viral video, Hurmat’s father Irshad has appealed to the concerned authorities for raising sports infrastructure in his area.
The way, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), is tapping talent at the grass-root level, talented players like Hurmat will get the JKCA selectors nod soon.
It is great to see euphoria of cricket luring youngsters towards this gentleman’s game.
