Jammu, July 17: The Congress Party on Wednesday held protests in Rajouri and Samba districts, condemning Pakistan for its role in supporting terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Congress workers urged the government to initiate decisive anti-terrorism operations to restore confidence among the local population.
Similarly, Bajrang Dal activists, led by Rashtriya Bajrang Dal chief Rakesh Kumar, held a strong protest against the recent killings of Army personnel in Doda. The activists burned effigies and chanted slogans condemning Pakistan for aiding and abetting terrorism.
“We strongly condemn this cowardly act. The government must launch ‘Operation All Out’ to eliminate foreign mercenaries targeting army personnel and civilians,” Kumar said.
The protesters also called for the identification and harsh punishment of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who support terrorists.
In Doda and Bhaderwah, traders and civil society members joined the protests, burning effigies of Pakistan and demanding robust action against terrorists. They advocated for equipping Village Defence Groups (VDGs) with modern weapons to protect remote hamlets in the Jammu hills.
The workers from Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal participated in protests against the Doda terror attack. They called for stringent measures against terrorism in the region.
