Doda, Nov 01: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said he is committed to working for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and is least bothered by the allegations levelled by his opponents. Azad said his mission is to fight poverty, create employment opportunities for youth and build infrastructure to ensure no one suffers for want of health care and educational facilities.
“Our opponents are focussed on issues that can benefit no one since they lack vision,” he said while addressing a gathering at Udhyanpur, Dali in Doda.
The DPAP chief assured people that his vision and experience are enough to take Jammu and Kashmir out of the quagmire and he is hopeful of receiving overwhelming support from the people in this endeavour.
He said he has been the staunch opponent of the BJP, unlike so many others who speak dual languages for their vested interests.
The former chief minister added, “Our motive and aim is to build Jammu and Kashmir as a welfare state where everyone lives peacefully and happily.” He asked his workers to ensure corner meetings are held and the agenda of the party is discussed which has pro-people and welfare policies for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said there is an acute shortage of power, water and other basic facilities in these rural areas also shortage of teachers in schools, doctors in hospitals and bad road conditions. He appealed to the LG administration to intervene and resolve these issues.
Among others who attended the public meeting were G.M.Saroori Vice Chairman, Ab Majeed Wani Gen Secretary, Anita Thakur Gen Secretary, P.R.Manhas Zonal President, Asif Gattu Distt President, Prabha Salathia Mahila President, Sunita Arora Spokesperson, Javid Azad VP Zone, Arif Najar Block President, Pritam Kotwal Provincial Secretary, Sheikh Zaffarullah Gen Secretary Zone Chenab, Javed Malik and others.
