Jammu, Dec 08: National Conference, in the presence of Additional General Secretary and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta, on Friday welcomed social activists, Er Sparsh Parihar, Avnish Sharma and Nanak Chand into its fold.
In a statement, the party said the move reinforces NC’s commitment to political stability, religious and regional unity, and the overall peace and progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing delight at the joining of the social activists, the party said, “The National Conference serves as the natural destination for public-spirited political activists dedicated to the betterment of the region. Their decision to join reflects a growing realization among the public that the National Conference is the only party capable of upholding their dignity and leading the state into a new era of peace, progress, and development.”
During the joining ceremony organized by Qazi Jalal Ud Din, Ex-MLA, Rattan Lal Gupta conveyed his optimism that the inclusion of Er Sparsh Parihar, Avnish Sharma, and Nanak Chand will further fortify the National Conference at the grassroots level. He expressed hope that their involvement will contribute to serving the people of remote areas, including Chenab Valley, and underscored the party’s historical role in fostering unity and amity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Gupta highlighted the rich legacy of communal amity left by ‘Sher-e-Kashmir’ Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, and the party’s commitment to sustaining this tradition. Communal harmony has been a cornerstone of the state’s history, and it is imperative for the cadre to pass on this spirit to future generations, he said.
Prominent figures present at the event included Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary; Raghbir Singh Manhas, District President Jammu Rural A; Zaffarullah Rather, District President Doda; Shahan Kichloo, Senior Media Analyst; Master Aslam; Randhir Singh Chib, and others.
