Kulgam Aug 18: As part of the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, “Rural Credit Workshop” under JKCIP-IFAD, was inaugurated by Chairman DDC Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal Parry. today at Yamrach.According to a statement issued here, he appreciated the initiatives aimed at empowering farmers and strengthening the rural economy. Parry stressed upon the farmers to take advantage of the Govt. schemes for prosperous life.As per a statement issued here, Chief Scientist & Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kulgam, Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, briefed the DDC and farmers about the objectives of the programme. The event witnessed a huge participation of locals, including farmers, entrepreneurs, FPOs and representatives from agriculture and allied departments.Chief Agriculture officer, Farooq Ahmad Reshi sensitised farmers about various centrally sponsored schemes and shared information on new opportunities and benefits available for rural entrepreneurs especially under HADP and JKCIP. He also advised the farmers to register themselves on JKCIP portal. Bank officials provided a detailed report of various schemes in agriculture and Rural credit.
