Srinagar, Apr 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, today chaired a security review meeting to ensure the swift implementation of the directions issued by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in yesterday’s high-level meeting regarding the Pahalgam terror attack.
According to sources, during the meeting, Lieutenant Governor Sinha reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to bringing those responsible for the attack to justice. He emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is fully dedicated to avenging the killings of innocent citizens and preventing such acts of terrorism from recurring.
Sources further revealed that the Lieutenant Governor stressed the need for the strongest possible action against the perpetrators. “The Home Minister has directed that all necessary measures must be taken to dismantle the entire terrorist ecosystem,” he said. He also underscored the importance of avenging the deaths of the victims while ensuring that terror outfits and their supporters are eradicated.
The Lieutenant Governor is said to have conveyed to the meeting that while nothing can bring back the lost lives, it is crucial to take firm action to ensure such tragic incidents are not repeated. He urged Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to take immediate steps on the ground to restore security and address the needs of the affected people.
“The scourge of terrorism will be fought with full determination,” the Lieutenant Governor said, adding that every possible means must be employed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, DGP, and senior civil administration and police officials, who discussed the next steps in securing the region and taking swift action against those responsible for the attack.
