CCI prez flags off players for Inter Zonal National Veteran C’ship

Jammu, Dec 21: Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu on Wednesday flagged off former Ranji Player, Member Indian Cricketers Association and Captain of JK Veterans along with other three J&K based players for their participation in the Inter Zonal National Veteran Championship which is scheduled to be held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh from 22nd to 27th of December, 2022. 
It is pertinent to mention here that the Selection Committee of the Indian Veteran Cricket Association of India has also announced the North Zone Veteran Cricket Team after conducting the trials at New Delhi which includes Rajesh Gill, Nikhil Parikh, Sanjeev Seth, GS Harry, Vipin Sharma, Satish Saraf, Dhiraj Kumar, Haseeb Rehman, RK Bhat, Samir Mukherjee, Ratan Sharma, Radha Kant, Raju Arora and Vivek Suri. 
The Selection Committee headed by Sanjay Sinha, Director of the VCI has selected Rajesh Gill as Captain of the North Zone Veteran Cricket Team. It needs to mention here that six teams including North Zone Warriors, Central Strikers, Eastern Dynamos, Western Lions, Southern Gazellelles and Global Patriots are the participating teams in the Inter Zonal National Championship. 
Four players from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected which include Rajesh Gill, R.K Bhat, Haseeb Rehman and Vivek Suri for the Inter Zonal National Veteran Championship. 
Arun Gupta extended best wishes to Rajesh Gill, Captain who is leading the North Zone Veteran Cricket Team and hoped that the selected players will bring laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by giving their best performance and winning the championship. 
The Indian Veterans Cricket Team will be picked based on the performances including the Inter Zonal Matches and the selected Indian Veteran Team will take part in the forthcoming World Cup in March 2023 at Cape Town South Africa. The schedule of the World Cup has also been released and the Indian Veterans will play its first match against South Africa on 6 March 2023.
