Srinagar, Jun 12: Member Parliament (MP) Srinagar, Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday said he is hopeful the Cabinet will soon approve the Sub-Committee’s report on rationalisation of posts and ensure justice is done to the genuine demands of students and parents.
Speaking to reporters here, Ruhullah said the report must now be made public without further delay. “I hope that the report will be put in front of the Cabinet as soon as possible,” he said, adding that all committees function under the Cabinet, and it is now for them to take a final call.
He said, “In principle, I have told the aspirants clearly, there is no room for ifs and buts right now. Let the report go to the Cabinet, let the Cabinet approve it, and let it be shared with the people.
The senior National Conference (NC) leader said the demands of students and parents were justified and rational. “I hope their genuine demands for rationalisation will be carried out and justice will be done to everyone in this,” he added.
Reiterating his support to the aspirants, the MP said he stood with them before and will continue to do so in the future. “Wherever they need me, I will be with them, as I was before. And wherever they want me, they will find me,” he said.
Referring to his earlier interaction with aspirants, Mehdi said, “This was discussed with the students in front of you yesterday. There was a meeting. I told them exactly what I told you now.”
Ruhullah urged the government not to delay the Cabinet sitting on the matter. “The situation requires immediate attention and decisive action,” he added.
