Budgam: People from various districts of the Kashmir valley took part in the 11th Muharram Procession held in the main town of Magam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district to honour the Karbala martyrs.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, Civil administration of Magam tehsil, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and Volunteers set up stalls to provide water and juices to the Azadars.
Rajiv Omparkash Pande, DIG of Central Kashmir Range said that all security arrangements were in place in Magam town.
The civil administration and Jammu and Kashmir Police made prior arrangements to assist the people participating in the Muharram Procession in Magam.
“Since the month of Muharram began, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have set up sabeels in Magam town to distribute to the mourners,” he stated.
Director of Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mustaq Ahmad Rather said that all the health related services have been made available in all the areas, since the Muharram Procession took place in different parts of the Kashmir valley.
“We appreciate all those people who donated blood during this month of Muharram, as it can help save lives. This blood will be available at blood banks at the district hospitals which will be also provide to patients in need,” he added.
He said that the health staff and ambulances were deployed in Magam town to offer health services to the Azadars participating in the Muharram procession in Magam.
DC Budgam and SSP Budgam participated in the 11th Muharram procession in Magam, Budgam.
The Deputy Commissioner Budgam (DC) Akshay Labroo, accompanied by SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar also participated in it & distributed refreshments to the participants.
