Srinagar, Feb 18: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the free upgrade of current landline connections to Fiber optic mode (Copper To FTTH) (Fiber To The Home) in Kashmir.
GM BSNL Kashmir, Arvind Panday said the transition will be carried out without any charges and will include the installation of an optical network terminal (ONT).
He emphasized that after the transition, subscribers can enjoy the convenience of data and voice calls without any hassle, and they can keep their existing landline numbers intact.
Panday mentioned that Fiber plans will start from ₹299 in Kashmir and ₹249 in urban areas. To initiate the upgrade process, individuals only need to send a message via WhatsApp to 9419020009. Customers will also benefit from unlimited local and STD calls as well as unlimited data download without any restrictions up to 10 GB at speeds of up to 10 Mbps.”
He also highlighted that the current landline services, based on copper wires, are prone to damage and deterioration, whereas Fiber optic technology provides a reliable and modern telecommunications solution. He assured customers of BSNL’s commitment to providing top-notch services.
He further mentioned that approximately 20,000 existing subscribers in the valley will benefit from the copper to FTTH conversion scheme.
