Srinagar, May 15: In a powerful demonstration of patriotism and solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, thousands of emotionally charged citizens took part in a massive “Tiranga Yatra” in Lal Chowk here on Thursday.
The yatra commenced from Sher-i-Kashmir Park to Lal Chowk Srinagar. Waving the national flag and chanting slogans like ‘Jai Hind’, ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Indian Army Zindabad’, the participants expressed unflinching support for the nation’s soldiers.
J&K Waqf Board Chairperson, Dr Darakshan Andrabi, alongside BJP leaders, workers, activists, civil society group, students and others participated in the rally. The “Tiranaga Yatra” was led by a large number of females from the different sections of society to celebrate “Operation Sindoor”.
The rally began at Sher-e-Kashmir Park and culminated at Lal Chowk, a location that has symbolic significance in Kashmir’s political landscape.
Holding the national flag, participants raised slogans against Pakistan and hailed the Indian Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“This rally at Lal Chowk is a tribute to the Indian Army and security forces for not only dismantling terror hubs in Pakistan but also showcasing India’s strength and resolve,” said a BJP leader. “This rally is an expression of our love for the nation.”
Dr Andrabi, in her address, said the rally was a moment of pride for every Indian.
BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur said the Indian Army has made the entire country proud.
