Jammu, Mar 29: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) executive member Raman Suri on Saturday paid tributes to the policemen martyred in Kathua encounter said the fight against terrorism is far from over but stands as a testament to the “unwavering resolve of our security forces”.
“These are not stray incidents of terrorism, which have been eradicated to a larger extent in Jammu and Kashmir. Such cowardly attacks and the supreme sacrifices of our brave personnel will not deter our valiant security forces from continuing their relentless action against terrorism,” he asserted.
Suri said the sacrifices of police personnel Tariq Ahmed of Reasi, Jaswant Singh of Londi, Hiranagar, Balwinder Singh Chib of Kana Chak, Kathua and Head Constable Jagbir Singh, Incharge Police Post Safiyan, a resident of Khour, Akhnoor will always be remembered and will inspire youngsters to join the police force and avenge sacrifices of these valiant soldiers.
Four police personnel sacrificed their lives and two terrorists were neutralised in the ongoing operation in the remote Ghati Juthana forest area of Rajbagh.
The BJP leader said terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is on its last legs, and this act of violence reflects the sheer frustration of terrorists who know their days are numbered. “These desperate acts will not weaken our resolve. The security forces will continue their operations with full might,” he said.
He urged the Government of India and the Lieutenant Governor to identify and take strict action against locals supporting these terrorists. “We must nail them and dismantle the entire infrastructure of terrorism, ensuring that their handlers and sympathizers are eliminated once and for all,” Suri said.
Expressing his deep condolences to the bereaved families, Raman Suri said, “While I express my heartfelt sympathies with the families of our martyrs, I want to assure them that the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Indian Army, will not stop their operations against terrorists. We will not rest until the last gun falls silent on Indian soil.”
“The terrorists involved in the attack were cowards who had sneaked into the Indian side from across the border. Two of them have been eliminated, and the others will be hunted down soon,” he added.
Suri paid rich tributes to the fallen heroes, saying, “I bow to the valorous martyrs of J&K Police who laid down their lives for our motherland. Pride and grief intertwine as we remember these police martyrs saying that their sacrifice in the line of duty will always be remembered. May their souls rest in peace, and I offer my heartfelt prayers for the swift recovery of those injured.”
