Jammu, Apr 17: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President and the party’s candidate for the Jammu Reasi seat, Raman Bhalla on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election manifesto, asserting that the party’s promises would remain mere rhetoric and would not translate into reality.
Addressing election gatherings across various constituencies, Bhalla said the BJP “failed” to fulfill its previous assurances. He termed the saffron party’s assurances as hollow pledges.
Accompanied by prominent party leaders and supporters, including General Secretaries Amrit Bali and TS Tony, District President Manmohan Singh, and others, Bhalla underscored the disillusionment with the BJP’s governance. He emphasized the BJP’s inability to fulfill previous commitments, such as creating 2 crore jobs annually and doubling farmers’ incomes, labelling them as “hoax.”
The JKPCC leader challenged the BJP to provide evidence of meeting past assurances, particularly regarding job creation and agricultural income. He accused the BJP of neglecting farmers’ welfare, citing the adverse impact of anti-farmer laws and the subsequent withdrawal following the tragic deaths of over 700 farmers.
The Congress leader highlighted the BJP’s unfulfilled promises from previous elections and enumerated a list of commitments, including the retrieval of black money, depositing Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account, and doubling farmers’ incomes. He criticized the BJP’s failure to address the rising prices of essential commodities and accused them of exacerbating unemployment and inflation.
Bhalla dismissed the BJP’s Lok Sabha poll manifesto as a collection of hollow rhetoric, denouncing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for failing to deliver on key issues affecting the populace.
The Congress leader called for accountability from the BJP and urged voters to reject false promises. He urged the electorate to consider alternatives, expressing confidence in the Congress party’s commitment to addressing pressing issues faced by the nation.
