Srinagar, Aug 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Front is gearing up to launch a nationwide membership campaign to enroll 50 lakh members across the country.
The campaign, set to start on September 2, 2024, will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will run from September 1 to 25, and the second phase from October 1 to 15, the Front said in a statement issued here.
Preparations for this ambitious campaign have intensified at both the national and state levels. To ensure the success of the Membership Campaign 2024, a National Membership Campaign Workshop was held on Tuesday at the BJP Headquarters.
The workshop, chaired by National President Jamal Siddiqui, was inaugurated by Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju. He paid floral tribute to the portraits of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and sang “Vande Mataram.”
Other prominent attendees included BJP National General Secretary and National In-charge of the Front Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams, and several national office bearers, as well as state presidents, general secretaries, national in-charges of the membership campaign, and co-in-charges.
Siddiqui explained that the campaign will be conducted through multiple channels to reach a wide audience. People can become members of the party via missed calls, QR codes, the Namo App, or through the BJP’s official website (bjp.org).
The Minority Front will also focus on engaging with the Sufi community as part of its outreach, Siddiqui said. He said a dedicated team of 14,000 “Sufi Samvad” members will be working specifically on this aspect of the campaign.
Additionally, 22 lakh minority sisters and “Modi Mitras” who are part of the “Shukriya Modi Ji” campaign will be participating as well. Each of the 24,000 Mandal, state, and district-level officers across the country has been tasked with enrolling 100 members, the statement said, adding that they will only be able to retain their officer status upon meeting this target.
