JAMMU, Apr 04: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has started drawing strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as it has formulated committees for six thousand polling booths in all the 43 Assembly constituencies of Jammu region and 10 Assembly constituencies in Kashmir region, party sources informed.
The BJP high command, under the tagline, ‘Booth Jeeta-Chunav Jeeta’, had given the ‘Booth Sashaktikaran’ Abhiyaan (programme) to the J&K BJP unit to complete the exercise of strengthening all the polling booths of each of the 90 Assembly constituencies of J&K by or before April 06 2023, sources informed.
“Whenever the Assembly elections are held but our aim is to win atleast 10 seats from Kashmir as per the directions of the party high command,” Ravinder Raina, BJP President, J&K UT, informed Rising Kashmir, while adding, “the exercise for strengthening polling booths in the remaining Assembly constituencies of Kashmir region will soon be undertaken and booth committees will be constituted”.
We only need some few assembly seats from Kashmir to form our own government, Raina said.
“We have constituted committees for 6000 polling booths in all the 43 Assembly constituencies of Jammu Province,” former minister in the BJP-PDP government, Devender Manyal, informed Rising Kashmir, adding, “the report along with local issues of each constituency will be submitted to the party high command”.
The BJP, as a well thought out strategy, has constituted the polling booth committees by including people from all sections of the society in each committee.
“Each committee comprises of 11 members from all communities of a particular booth,” sources informed, while adding, “Women, party workers from youth wing are the members of the committees but each committee is headed by a member of the community which is in majority in a particular polling booth”.
Apart from this, the BJP has also included an IT specialist in each polling booth committee, who will involve people and try to bring them in the party fold through social media.
The polling booth committees will also incorporate and mention the local issues in the report which will be submitted to the party high command.
The complete compiled report of 4500 polling booths has been received, while reports from Doda, Ramban and Udhampur districts are still awaited, Manyal, who is also the incharge of ‘Booth Sashaktikaran’ Abhiyaan, said adding that the exercise has been completed and reports will soon be received.
As per the report of each polling booth committee, the BJP will also submit the names of ‘Panna Pramukhs’ i.e page in-charge of the voter list of each polling booth.
These ‘Panna Pramukhs’ will be assigned the duty of mobilising voters besides making them aware about party’s programmes and policies.
