Samba, Nov 12: “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to foiling the divisive and discriminatory mindset of the Congress-National Conference. The consolidation of peace, progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir during the past five years will not be allowed to be derailed,” J&K BJP vice president Surjeet Singh Slathia said on Tuesday.
Continuing his Vijay rallies across the Samba Assembly constituency, MLA Slathia said there will be no compromise on the region’s stability. “This is the message sent out by the politically sagacious people of the Jammu region by delivering a huge mandate of 29 seats for the BJP to end the decades-old discrimination by successive governments which bade farewell post abrogation of Article 370,” he added.
Slathia said the BJP’s focus remains firmly on promoting growth initiatives and strengthening public welfare initiatives as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to empower youth, boost local businesses and enhance infrastructure development.
“PM’s initiatives created a self-reliant Jammu & Kashmir by fostering economic opportunities and bringing about a discernible turnaround in the overall situation. These cannot be sabotaged by encouraging elements disrupting harmony,” he said.
During his visit to the area, MLA Slathia laid the foundation for the improvement and augmentation of the Water Supply Scheme for the Samba town under the UT CAPEX Budget, estimated to cost Rs 213.7 lakh. He stressed the need for maintaining quality control of the work and completing these in a stipulated timeframe so that its benefits percolate down to the designated population expeditiously.
