Srinagar, Nov 12: Prominent political leaders on Tuesday expressed deep grief over the tragic death of Abida Sumaiya, a mother of three young children, from Bandipora district, who succumbed to her injuries from a grenade attack in the TRC (Tourist Reception Centre) area of Srinagar last week.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a statement expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased’s soul to rest in eternal peace in Jannat. They said their thoughts and prayers are with her three young children during this incredibly difficult time.
The party’s general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Member of Parliament (MP) Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, provincial president Showkat Mir, chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq also extended their sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family.
Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC) chief Sajad Lone expressed in his message of grief said, “My heartfelt condolences to the family of Abida Sumaiya. The tragic loss is not only a devastating blow to her family but to the entire community. She was a mother of three, and the pain of such a loss is beyond measure. My thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. May Allah grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
Lone prayed for the departed soul. “May Allah grant her Jannat (paradise), and provide her family with the courage to cope with this immense tragedy.”
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in a statement said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of this woman, who was a mother of three young children. She was receiving treatment in the hospital and was on a ventilator. May Almighty Allah grant her the highest place in Jannah and give her bereaved family, especially the children, the strength to bear the pain of this irreparable loss.”
