BIS conducts standard writing competition at Govt Boys HSS Mujgund, GHSS Shadipora

Srinagar, July 02: A standard writing competition took place at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Mujgund in Srinagar, organized in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office.
The event was facilitated by Ms. Mehak Rasool, who provided an introduction to BIS and educated students on protocols for analyzing product originality, durability, and purity.
The interactive session included a robust discussion where students posed various queries about product standards. Following this, 32 students participated in the competition. Refreshments were provided during the event.
The competition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony led by Principal Mohammad Yousuf, who awarded prizes to the top four students. He praised BIS for their efforts in introducing the concepts of standardization and purity to the students, preparing them to be future BIS ambassadors.
In another event Government Higher Secondary School Shadipora organized a Standards Writing Competition, sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The event, held on Tuesday, was attended by Principal Nuzhat Bano and senior teaching staff members.
The event began with Ms. Mehak Rasool, a representative from JKBO, receiving a warm welcome and a bouquet. The first session focused on raising awareness about the importance of standards, with an effective presentation by Rasool.
The second session featured a Standards Writing Competition on the theme “Packaging Water Bottle.” The competition saw Muskaan Yousuf, Syed Sibkat, Suraya Hasan, and Ikhlaq Wani securing the first, second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. The winners were awarded monetary prizes as per BIS protocols.
Principal Nuzhat Bano concluded the program with a vote of thanks to Rasool, the coordination team, and mentor BIS Club, Mir M Muzamil, for their efforts in making the event a success. She lauded the role of BIS in promoting a safe and quality environment for consumers, industry, and trade through setting standards, testing, and certification.
