Anantnag, Apr 26: The Boys High School in Akad witnessed an exciting and competitive Children Sports Festival on Wednesday, organized under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (SAMAGRA SHIKSHA) initiative.
The festival saw young athletes from different disciplines compete in sports such as Kabbadi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, 7 a side Football, and the 100-metre race.
The Kho-Kho event witnessed a nail-biting finish as the girls of BMS Arigohal emerged victorious over their opponents HS Akad by one set. Meanwhile, in Kabaddi, the HS Akad Blues faced a narrow defeat against their fellow school team, HS Akad Yellows. In the 7-a-side Football match, it was the HS Akad Sir Syed Sports team that clinched the victory over the HS Akad Iqbal Sports team by a solitary goal.
In the 100-metre race, Faizan Sajad emerged as the clear winner, followed by Muyeed Gulzar in the second position and Mustakeem Rasool in the third position. The event was graced by the presence of the Principal of HSS Seer, Arshid Ahmad, the Cluster Head, Incharge Headmistress of HS Akad, Zubaida Akhter, the staff of HS Akad, and the technical staff of Youth Services.
The Principal of HSS Seer, Arshid Ahmad, felicitated the players and delivered an inspiring lecture on the value of sports and games. The Children Sports Festival not only provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills but also served as a reminder of the importance of sports in building character, discipline, and teamwork among children.
