Beehives, tools distributed to tribal beekeepers in Bandipora, Gurez, Ganderbal, Anantnag

Bandipora, May 17: Under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Honey Bees and Pollinators (HB & P) operating at Research and Training Centre for Pollinators Pollinizers and Pollination Management (RTCPPPM), Division of Entomology, FoH, SKUAST-K, Shalimar, the beehives/beekeeping tools were distributed among the tribal beekeepers of District Bandipora including Gurez, Ganderbal and Anantnag.
The beehives and beekeeping items/tools were distributed among the tribal beekeepers by Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ganie (Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Shalimar) in presence of Dr. Prabat Kumar (Horticulture Commissioner, Govt. of India), Prof. Haroon Naik (Director Research, SKUAST-K, Shalimar), Dr. Shabir A Wani (Dean, FoH, SKUAST-K, Shalimar) and the Scientists associated with AICRP on HB & P Centre, SKUAST-K, Shalimar.
Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir appreciated the work carried by the Scientists associated with AICRP on Honey bees and pollinators for the development of the beekeeping in the entire Kashmir especially in the Tribal Communities. He also thanked Project Coordinating Unit of AICRP on Honey bees and Pollinators, IARI, New Delhi for funding and support.
