Srinagar, Jan 02: In a move to alleviate persistent traffic congestion on the Rambagh-Natipora road, the Divisional Administration Kashmir inaugurated the Barzulla Bund Road on Tuesday, bringing a collective sigh of relief to commuters grappling with daily snarls.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, conducted a spot visit to Barzulla Bund Road, expressing satisfaction at the timely completion of the project. With the green signal from him, authorities are now diverting one-way traffic through this newly opened route.
During his visit, Bidhuri commended the concerned departments for their punctuality in finishing the Barzulla Bund Road and urged them to approach future projects with the same commitment.
Accompanied by Commissioner SMC/CEO SSCL, Chief Engineer R&B, SSP Traffic, and other officers, the Div Com inspected the retaining wall’s progress. He directed the R&B authorities to ensure its timely completion while allowing the smooth flow of traffic. Additionally, he instructed them to address any undulations that may arise after vehicular movement on the road.
Acknowledging the freezing temperatures, the Div Com clarified that blacktopping of the road would be deferred until a more conducive climate prevails.
To mitigate congestion during peak hours, the Divisional Administration has decided to utilize the alternate Barzulla Bund Road route, strategically diverting traffic and optimizing the main road’s flow.
Residents expressed gratitude for the Divisional Administration’s responsiveness to their longstanding demand for a solution to the traffic gridlocks in Natipora. The development of the parallel Bund Road is anticipated to provide a lasting solution to the traffic challenges faced by the community, ensuring smoother and more efficient daily commuting.
