The visit also included tours of various orchards, offering practical exposure to modern horticultural practices. Later, the students moved to SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Shuhama. At FVSc, the focus of awareness shifted to animal sciences. Scientists at FVSc engaged with the students, sharing their expertise and discussing potential career paths in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry. Throughout the visit, a strong emphasis was placed on the vast opportunities available within the agriculture and allied sectors, extending beyond traditional farming. Experts highlighted how schemes like HADP are transforming the agricultural landscape of J&K by promoting innovation, technology adoption, and entrepreneurship. The Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP)was also introduced as a catalyst for enhancing competitiveness and climate resilience in the region’s agricultural sector, providing crucial support for aspiring agri-entrepreneurs.
