Baramulla, Nov 13: Baramulla Police organised an awareness programme at Panchayat Ghar in Wussan Pattan to address the escalating concern of drug abuse among youth.
The event, attended by the general public including students, youths, citizens and PRIs, focused on educating the participants about the perils of drug abuse, preventive measures and appropriate responses when faced with drug-related situations.
Experts from the Police Drug De Addiction Centre (DDC) in Baramulla delivered compelling lectures, providing essential knowledge to recognise signs of drug abuse and offering guidance on initial responses.
Mohd Ashraf and Uzma Qureshi – experts – shared comprehensive insights and expertise on various aspects of drug addiction, contributing to a deeper understanding among the audience.
A police official said the engagement and success of the programme underscore the commitment of Baramulla Police to the well-being of the community and their dedication to creating a drug-free environment for the youth.
Attendees including students, youths, respectable persons and PRIs expressed gratitude to the police for the “enlightening” programme and acknowledged its significant impact on the community.
