Bandipora polytechnic college honours Gandhi Ji’s legacy with ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’

Bandipora, Oct 02: Government Polytechnic College Bandipora participated in the Swachhta Hi Seva Programme, a nationwide initiative promoting cleanliness and hygiene, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. The event took place on October 01 and 02, 2023, bringing together students, staff, and local community members in a collective effort towards a cleaner and greener future.
Aligned with Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and healthy India, the Swachhta Hi Seva Programme saw enthusiastic participation from students, dedicated staff, and proactive members of the local community. The event emphasized the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, and environmental conservation, nurturing a sense of responsibility among all participants.
Government Polytechnic College Bandipora organized various activities throughout the two-day event, including cleanliness drives and awareness sessions. Students actively engaged in cleaning their surroundings and spreading awareness about waste management. The college’s staff members played a vital role in organizing these activities, guiding the students and ensuring smooth execution of the program.
The active involvement of local community members further enhanced the impact of the Swachhta Hi Seva Programme, showcasing a collective commitment towards transforming Bandipora into a cleaner and healthier place to live.
Mr. Javid Iqbal Bhat, Principal Government Polytechnic College Bandipora, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from everyone involved. “The Swachhta Hi Seva Programme reflects our dedication to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals. By participating in such initiatives, we not only clean our surroundings but also nurture civic responsibility and environmental consciousness among our students and the local community.”
The event concluded on 2nd October 2023, coinciding with the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Government Polytechnic College Bandipora remains committed to organizing such initiatives in the future, fostering a spirit of cleanliness, hygiene, and social responsibility among the youth and the community. 
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Javid Iqbal Bhat, Principal Government Polytechnic College Bandipora.
