Srinagar, Sep 06: Asserting that the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) is committed to working tirelessly for the peace and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the party senior leader and treasurer Taj Mohiuddin on Wednesday said all doors are shut for those who are corrupt and have no vision for the union territory.
“I assure you that our party led by Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed to the cause of the people. It has only a pro-people agenda where we can ensure every family of the UT lives in peace and earn with dignity,” he told a public gathering at Sagipora, Rafiabad.
Vice Chairman G M Saroori in his address said, “All the successive regimes have failed to live up to the expectations of people but it is only DPAP which has become the voice of every street and mohalla in the UT. We are not in power but when we see injustice is done with our people we don’t hesitate to hit the roads peacefully. Our efforts to defend the rights of people are evident from the peaceful street protests when the forcible land eviction drive was launched and we didn’t stop until the government took back the order.”
He added, “People are fed up with the political parties who have been befooling them all the time and personally seeking blessings from the BJP to secure political gains and fortunes for themselves and their relatives. But the DPAP is the only party that stands for the cause of people. Its agenda is to strengthen the economy of people and ensure jobs are created for the unemployed youth.”
Saroori also said the disciplinary committee of the party expelled some of the leaders who were indulged in anti-party activities and creating “groupism”.
Speaking on the occasion, the party’s provincial general secretary Shafiq Shabnam said he is hopeful of seeing beautiful and prosperous Jammu Kashmir once DPAP is elected to power by the people. “Our leader has a vision for development he is one of the cleanest politicians against whom not a single case of corruption has come to the fore in fifty years of career. He is the only hope for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and can take it out of prevailing chaos,” he said.
