Samba, July 05: Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Alok Kumar on Friday called for rationalisation of staff in departments with manpower shortages, installation of solar panels to reduce the electricity burden and availing the subsidy facility for solar installations.
Chairing a public darbar here to address public grievances and demands as well as assess ongoing development works in the district, Kumar reassured that genuine matters would be addressed through the relevant departments. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the district’s development.
During the darbar, participants raised several issues, seeking timely intervention for their resolution. The key concerns included the improvement of road connectivity from Mohargarh to Mansar, the inclusion of crate works in development plans, frequent electricity cuts, manpower deficiencies in PHE, Municipality and Health Departments, installation of CCTV cameras at main chowks, repair of groundwater pumps, levelling of ground at HS Gaghwal, renovation and beautification of ponds, filling vacancies for lecturers and construction of lane drains in the municipality area.
Alok Kumar attentively listened to the grievances and discussed them with the concerned officers, reviewing written representations from the public.
Concluding the event, DC Samba, Abhishek Sharma, briefed the Principal Secretary on grievances highlighted in previous darbars, noting that connectivity issues for villages through PMGSY and NABARD have been included in the development plan. He mentioned that out of 130, 63 schemes under JJM have been completed in the Samba district. DDC members, ADDC Samba, ADC Samba, various district officers and a large number of locals attended the Public Darbar.
