Srinagar, May 17: The Annual Training Camp (ATC-2025) for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from the Kashmir region commenced today at the National Training Academy (NTA) Nagrota, with spirited participation from both Senior and Junior Division/Wing (SD & JD) cadets.
The 10-day camp, scheduled from May 17 to May 26, aims to foster physical endurance, discipline, leadership, and personality development among the youth.
On the opening day, cadets underwent rigorous physical training and drill sessions, which tested their stamina, coordination, and synchronization. These foundational exercises are a vital component of military-style training, laying the groundwork for discipline and unity among the participants.
The day also featured a live firing practice session, conducted under expert supervision, which helped cadets improve their precision, focus, and confidence.
In addition to core training, the camp also launched inter-company sports competitions, including basketball, volleyball, and open gym activities. These events are designed to promote physical wellness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and strategic thinking among the cadets. The vibrant start to the camp reflected a strong sense of camaraderie and enthusiasm, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.
Speaking about the significance of the camp, Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO and Spokesperson, Jammu, said, “This Annual Training Camp is not just about physical training, but about instilling discipline, leadership, and national pride in our cadets. The participation from the Kashmir region reflects the growing enthusiasm among youth to contribute positively to society and nation-building, he said.
Officials overseeing the camp emphasized the importance of such training platforms in nurturing future leaders and responsible citizens. The Annual Training Camp continues to serve as a cornerstone of the NCC’s mission to empower young minds, especially from sensitive regions like Kashmir, with the tools and confidence needed to thrive and serve the nation with integrity and purpose.
