National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has expressed his concerns on the Waqf Amendment Bill, highlighting the spiritual and unalterable nature of Waqf properties.

Speaking on the matter, he remarked, “Allah is the master. He alone will save the Waqf. Whatever they do with the Waqf, they will not be able to erase the name of Allah.”

The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister also addressed the issue of Article 370, reiterating its significance for the region.

“Article 370 was for the protection of this place,” Abdullah said.

Reflecting on the historical context, he added, “The law implemented in 1927 by Maharaja Kashmir was made to save the jobs of people here because they were not very educated.”

Abdullah’s statement comes amidst ongoing discussions about the status of Waqf properties and the implications of constitutional changes in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Waqf Amendment Bill and the abrogation of Article 370 remain key issues in the political and public discourse of Jammu and Kashmir, with Abdullah continuing to advocate for the protection of these significant aspects. (KNS)
