Jammu, Aug 10: Apni Party General Secretary, Vijay Bakaya on Saturday demanded a constitution of an Apex Committee that would chalk out a roadmap for the relief and rehabilitation of the migrant Kashmiri Migrants in the valley.
As per a press release, Bakaya chaired a meeting of the party leaders to discuss various issues confronted by the migrant Kashmiri Pandits, and stumbling blocks in the rehabilitation of the migrants back to their respective areas in the valley.
During the deliberation, he said the government should take a serious view of the situation that has kept the young migrant KP generation far away from their ancestral homes in Kashmir.
“The government should constitute an Apex Committee of the migrant Kashmiri Pandits and consult them regarding their rehabilitation in the valley. The Apex body shall be constituted with members from KPs, and it would provide consultation to the government for the rehabilitation of the migrant KPs,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Bakaya said that the relief amount should be enhanced up to Rs 25,000 in favour of the migrant KPs. “The price of the essential commodities have gone out of pocket, and therefore, the monthly relief for KPs shall be increased accordingly,” he added.
The Apni Party leader further demanded that unemployment has increased among the young generation of migrant KPs. So, it becomes imperative for the government to fill up all vacancies under PM Packages.
“The KPs shall also be provided affordable accommodation with all facilities in different places of postings by the government to the PM Package employees (migrant KPs),” he said.
Vijay expressed concern over the plight of the PM Package employees in the valley “who complain about poor management and accommodation for these employees”.
Meanwhile, various other issues were also discussed in the meeting, the party said.
