AP has clear vision for overall empowerment of women: Bukhari

Welcomes former JKNPP leaders, workers into party

Srinagar, Jun 30: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday said the prosperity and development of Jammu and Kashmir are incomplete without the equal participation of women. He asserted that the Apni Party has a well-defined vision to ensure their economic, social, and political empowerment.”Bukhari made these remarks while addressing leaders and senior members of the party’s women’s wing. This gathering was aimed at outlining a strategy for strengthening the party women’s wing further.As per a press release issued here, the leaders and senior workers from the party’s women’s wing shared their views and perspectives on a range of issues, including some party matters, with president Altaf Bukhari, who listened to them patiently.On this occasion, the participants outlined a strategy to further strengthen the women’s wing by expanding its base across the valley, the press release added.Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said, “Women are an equal and essential part of society when it comes to contributing to prosperity and development. A time is coming when there will be more female representatives in parliament and assemblies, as women are gaining their due rights and demonstrating their talent in every domain of society.”The Apni Party chief urged the women leaders and senior workers to intensify their political and public outreach activities in their respective areas to enhance the women’s wing’s base in all the areas across the valley.”The prominent leaders who were present in this event included the women’s wing President Dilshad Shaheen, State Secretary and Chief Spokesperson Muntazir Mohiuddin, Spokesperson Ishrat Bhat, Provincial Secretary Shiraza Malik, Constituency In-charge Zaffar Habib, Afroza , Rafiqa, Gulshan, Saima, Shaista, and others. Meanwhile, several former leaders and senior workers of Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) joined Apni Party on Monday here.On this occasion, the party president Altaf Bukhari and other senior party leaders gave a warm welcome to new entrants.Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said, “I wholeheartedly welcome you all to Apni Party. Our agenda is simple yet comprehensive — we are here to work for the peace, prosperity, and development of Jammu and Kashmir. I am confident that your joining will further strengthen our cadre in your respective areas. Together, we will strive to implement our pro-people agenda.The former leaders from JKNPP who joined included its District President Budgam Abdul Rashid Para, District President Anantnag Mohammad Rafiq Wani, Arsheed Ahmed —who fought 2024 parliamentary polls on JKNPP ticket from Anantnag, Abdul Rasheed Bania from Shopian, Muhkhana Chichi from Shopian and others, the statement said.
